Our Spring 2009 Show

SOUTH PACIFIC - 27 April - 2 May 2009

South Pacific

Tender romance, an immortal score and enchanting South Sea splendour are set against the dark backdrop of a world at war in this lush and passionate musical classic by Rodgers and Hammerstein.

At the heart of South Pacific is the love story of a naive young Navy nurse, Nellie Forbush and an older French plantation owner, Emile de Becque who meet on a US-occupied South Sea island.  A young soldier Lt. Joe Cable and a beautiful native girl Liat also fall in love, encouraged by Liat's mother, Bloody Mary. The war is never far away but the soldiers vaudeville show helps them to forget it for a while.

The score is as breathtaking as the tropical setting - Some Enchanted Evening, Bali Ha'i, Younger Than Springtime and more.
